Scuba Diving
Diving is extremely popular around Boracay. The waters surrounding Boracay have excellent sites for beginners and experienced divers alike. The waters are packed with vibrant fish and reefs, wreck sites, caves.
For those interested in Scuba Diving there are approximately 20 dive centers along the beach; it is a good place to learn or to improve your skills in diving. Cost is typically $33 per dive which includes hire of all equipment. The dive centers operate a cartel and agreed standard prices amongst themselves so prices will be the same at all centers.
There are 25-30 dive sites within 10-15minutes speed boat ride from the beach, suitable for beginners up to advanced level. Dives range from Angol Point through Crocodile Island, a straightforward wall dive, up to Yapak- a deep wall dive suitable for only the most experienced divers due to strong currents, although there is a possibility of sighting sharks and stingrays.
Bat Cave In Boracay
Well apart from the beautiful scenery and breath-taking beach of Boracay, It still has something different to offer to people who visit the island. There’s a BAT CAVE in Boracay which shelters the giant fruit bats. You can be accompanied by the locals in this area for a certain fee or tip. The cave is on the north-western end of the island, the guide will then take you on a short hike through the forest to the mouth of the cave which drops down at a very steep angle. The mouth of the cave has large boulders and is extremely difficult to enter and walk through. The air inside the cave is very warm and humid, so it’s very difficult to breathe. You have to be cautious if you’re going to visit this place because there is no visible path, no handrail and the stone are extremely slippery with slime.
Upon Leaving you will be asked for 200 pesos entry fee on behalf of the family that owns the land, in addition to paying for your tour guide.
